The above! We have got the pro's in for a few nests (around £50 - 10 minute job done). Bit of spray, then they hack the top of the nest which falls into a bag on an extended pole. sorted, the blighters never return to the same spotWondermike wrote: ↑Sun Jul 08, 2018 2:57 pm I believe that wasps don’t return to the same nest the following year, so you could wait until they die off in winter and then remove it yourself. If you want to do it now, I would definitely get a professional in.

I like this chaps no nonsense approach and he only got stung a few times

Surely though he would have noticed the nest before it got as large as it did.

Stop fannying about Tim - all you need is a bloody great stick - I had a pretty sizable wasp nest in the garden - got said stick and gave it an almighty clout then ran like fcuk up to the house and locked myself in -surprising how fast a 69 year old can run when he has to

Hang on, this is potentially a life and death situation in a confined space not in the middle of a cricket pitchgov wrote: ↑Mon Jul 09, 2018 7:50 am Stop fannying about Tim - all you need is a bloody great stick - I had a pretty sizable wasp nest in the garden - got said stick and gave it an almighty clout then ran like fcuk up to the house and locked myself in -surprising how fast a 69 year old can run when he has to

They started to build one under the gutter outside a few years back - shut all the windows, got my son’s high powered water pistol, full pressure blast & slammed window shut.
They were well pissed off outside, made a cuppa & by the time I came back they’d buzzed off.
Wicked they may be, though remember they’re nature’s police, going after all the nasty ticks, lice & other insects that can do us harm... I quite like them, though NIMBY

I don't dislike them as such as wasps are important part of the insect chain, if they were at the bottom of the garden it wouldn't fuss me, just being in the garage it's a little too close for comfort and multiple stings wouldn't be pleasantJembo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 09, 2018 8:27 am They started to build one under the gutter outside a few years back - shut all the windows, got my son’s high powered water pistol, full pressure blast & slammed window shut.

Just got rid of 3 nests in our loft, 1 was 12" across. Rentokil wasp killer powder does the job quickly and can be blasted up to 8ft away from you.

Just leave them alone and they wont bother you. They will die off in the winter.

When they are getting into the house, they need to be got rid of unfortunately. I know they do good things, but they can be nasty neighbours too.
