Paisley Freight (Insured? / Not Insured?)

Post by IAmOrion » Fri May 11, 2018 10:20 pm

What are peoples experiences with Paisley Freight?

Has anyone used them to send or receive wheels? Did you pay the additional premium for insurance?

Finding boxes to fit wheels + tires is seeming a PITA.

Any links or suggestions?

I didn't bother. I've used them twice now.
Just wrapped the alloy and left the rubber so the wheel could be rolled.
I think on the last batch I used some heavy duty zip ties to double up as "carry handles" (one per wheel) incase that method was preferred. Never had any problems.

I've used them a good few times for wheels and tyres after seeing decent reviews on forums like this. I like the fact they do specific pricing for tyres and wheels etc not the usual "what are the dimensions/weight?" that most couriers use. Never has any issues and they usually arrived the next day, even though I only paid for 3-4 day etc. Insurance wise I think they recently revised their costs etc. IIRC the first £50 is covered FOC and the upgrades above this are cheaper than they used to be. For me it depends what I'm sending anything up to £100 or so I'll risk it, beyond that and especially if its tyres I've sold on ebay etc I'll insure it.
