That would be rather sad and pathetic if that's the case.

It was mentioned on Heart radio in Kent this morning. They also mentioned another annoying thing, England doesn't really have an anthem. Scotland, Wales and N Ireland do, but the English seem to use god save the queen, which is more of a UK anthem IMHO :|

Yes, but that's why it's probably true!

I'm sure the English celebrate St Paddy's Day more than St. George's - which is pretty sad. :?

As for an English national anthem I'd be happy to stick with "God Save The Queen" - only the Sex Pistols version!

Not that I’m religious but it’s got to be Jerusalem, great tune and one that really stirs the emotions!

No, it really doesn't want to be that - it's the anthem of the Women's Institute FFS! :headbang:

Doesn't surprise me that very little has been said about our national day, England has been turned onto a politically correct, p***y whipped nation, to concerned with not upsetting any other nation or group.

why do the English not celebrate St george's day much? Does confuse me, in australia they have a holiday for the queen's b'day and celebrate australia day pretty passionately,

St pady's day seems to be celebrated all over, so I do find it a bit surprising that st george's day flies under the radar each year?
