Probably cost about 10x what it should have done. Roof doesn’t need to come off for that job and 95% of the motors can be easily reconditioned. Seen a lot worse than that being brought back to life no problem at all.

As above, why would you spend hundreds buying a new motor, and then put it back in there?? I have had ONE motor that needed replacing, and that was because it had caught fire inside the box and melted the plastic baseplate carrying the brushes.

Not forgetting the labour cost of removing and replacing the roof, possible damage to the bodywork in doing so, and the fact that I can usually tell when a roof has been off, because they don't refit them correctly, especially the awkward fasteners.

Mind you, there is another place advertising similar, and their "solution" to the problem was to drill holes in the bottom of the plastic tub, thereby ALLOWING water to enter from a much lower level and cause the bottom bearing to seize.. Have repaired oa couple they have done..
