Short vid of mine I made for DLV when we were thinking/getting round to buying them

https://youtu.be/BvtB0mMhGD0

Then movement of the car isn't the ramp - you can't apply the handbrake with a harness on so its always parked in gear the movement is just freeplay in the gearbox and diff. Wouldn't be without the ramp now - so much easier than bending down or lying on the floor.

If you get the type DLV and I have think about laying the floor with a hollow to accommodate the lift - it will make getting sports cars over it easier. If you get the 'drive over' type like Bluespit its easier to get sports cars over but you have the ramps constantly under the car which can make access harder to some parts. I made some long ramps to get my Caterham; Zed and my lads MR2 onto mine. Its just needs thinking about how you would use it; which is the most appropriate type and then planning building work around it.

this is my third go at getting a mid rise lifter, the first one was a really clumsy affair a bit like this one.

http://www.automotechservices.co.uk/products/as-5500-2-5-tonne-scissor-lift/

worked well but was a pig to set up and totally in the way when the car was off it, that sounds a bit daft but it has so many sticky out bits I was always tripping over it.

the second was a manual mini lift like this one which is great as long as you and space at the side to slide the lift under the car.

https://www.cjautos.eu/MINI_TILTING_CAR_LIFT_p/cl03.htm

I've still got this but unless my pal wants it I'll bung it on ebay soon

my one piece of advice would be to get a lift which has no cross pieces so access is as clear as possible
now I'm about to have more time I've suddenly got less toys to play with!

ahh, there is about an inch between the top of the lifter and the jacking blocks under the Z. so clearance is fine. It'll more likely be used for my classics which have much more clearance anyway
