Driving this amazing road won't be same anymore when you reach the top of Hartside on the A686. Thankfully no one hurt. :(

You could say gutted!

I've never been there, but from what I've read it seems to be quite an iconic place - and that looks like a BMW roundel on the wall!

Hopefully it will get rebuilt.

One of the best views in the lake district from the car park. Great road to drive from either direction.

I’ve been to Hartside quite a few times over the years in cars and on bikes. Coincidentally at the weekend just gone it was 6 years to the day since my first ever Z4 hoon and we ended up at Hartside, the weather was typically unkind as it often is up there.

Cycling Tour of Britain has been past there a few times too. I'm sure they will get it back up and running, in some form for the summer.. Bad time to have a fire, Just before Easter (Not that there's a good time) :(

What a shame, only been the once when I went with Smartbear to get our roof motors moved by Durham Dave. Fantastic views and great driving roads.

Such a shame, and a place many forum members have been to,on various runs/meets.
I am sure they will get it up and running again, and hopefully sooner rather than later :driving:

Very sad.

Only a couple of miles from my home town. Driven it many hundreds of times never gets old.

Its a cumbrian icon it will be back.
