You must have had a posh one.

Mine was a 1.5 LXi (I think) bought mainly for the cheap road tax! With cloth everywhere, decent handling but quite a bit of roll, and gutless. :(

I suppose a 2 litre 323 might have been fun what with it having a V6 motor, but I just went straight to 2.5 litre RWD loveliness with an E46 325ti. :)
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Along with the Z I have a Honda Jazz. Well loved by pensioners usually going slow and blocking car parks. However our 1.4 does 52 to the gallon (petrol). Turns on a sixpence, with the rear seats folded down flat on the floor can carry a fridge. Designed as a family car but bought by "old greys" it is totally reliable. In five years apart from servicing tax, etc our Jazz has only needed one exhaust and tyres. Bought for £2700 now only worth £500 and is reliable as the day is long.

I was looking into the e92 or e91 route as well. 320d. No issues with the LCI model, cheap insurance and fuel efficient, so that was the plan.

To be fair you may have dodged a bullet there!

The LCI E9* 320ds use the N47 engine - if you google "N47 camchain" it isn't pretty reading!

That's one of the main reasons I sold my 123d - and bought an E86 (as an obvious replacement).

Pre LCI certainly had its issues, and LCI may also have some problems not fully ironed out. But I’d happily get an anything after 2009 if I could afford it!

I think adding a Touring is a good choice. I have my Z4C as daily, sharing the load with my E46 Touring. Together they allow my E30 convertible to have an easy life and only come out on nice weekends and European trips.
If you are a BMW Car Club member have a look at the insurance. They do multi-car policies, I have the Z4C and my wife's Galaxy with them and they were cheaper than Admiral for better coverage.

Yes I still haven't checked it out yet but will be interesting to see what it turns out to be.
