Pathetic UK cold weather excuses?

Post by Ewazix » Tue Feb 27, 2018 8:31 am

In the UK we get a cold snap that's typical North or East European or N.American winter weather and everything collapses, it's just embarrassing!

The most pathetic excuse for the withdrawal of services was on TV this morning, a railway representative claimed trains were being cancelled because the horns wouldn't work in the cold or snow :headbang:

Yep,
When I was a kid, I was too young for Politics and Health & Safety hadn't been invested..... And life was great !

I remember walking to school as a 7 year old in the snow and being given a mug of warm milky coffee on arrival !
Coffee to 7 years olds ??? Not these days !!

Yes, walking, I did say ‘walking’ to school in all types of weather. No school closures due to a little snow and the railways were always running. Funny how times change isn’t it :?

Blame the litigation culture. Everyone is afraid they may be sued for negligence, or found liable for some bloke slipping on the ice on the pavement while wearing his loafers.

OOh I remember walking to school, and never recall a day it was shut due to the weather,
So the burning question I want to know is, ,, up the road from me is a school, and everyday there are a fair proportion of 4 wheel drive suv`s dropping off their little ones, on lovely sunny days, (Range Rovers, Q5`s, X5`s etc), seems they do not work in the snow :D

I remember we used to jam our fingers in between the bars of the old radiators to warm them up before lessons. I recall that used to hurt like hell, sometimes though.
