Z4 bike carrier

Post by firebobby » Sat Jan 20, 2018 9:57 pm

I spotted this in Henley yesterday and noticed the pee shooters under the rear valance, so I took a closer look. I hope this helps some on here who ask about fitting bike carriers to their Z4's.

I don't have a scooby how much it will carry as it's not mine. Just took the photos, as members on here have asked about bike rack fittings in the past.
I would have thought it would hold a bike though.

ive been experimenting with bike rack on my z4m for some planned trips this year and want to enjoy both car and bike....

no even going to lie, i looks like its going to end in tears, but im going to give it a try, if worse comes to worst its only a repaint on the trunk lid. my large MTB seems to sit very close to the car no matter how i adjust it.

I never thought to take a photo of it in place but found these on google to give you an idea of how it fits and looks. I did take my wheels off and put them in the boot though so it was a bit more 'aero' and had less chance of hitting the paint.

It is. I cut some old innertube to put between the hooks and the paint to stop any scratches. Providing the bikes are positioned high enough up there is no need for a light board as the lights and number plate are perfectly visible.

Good idea using old inner tubes, knew they would come in handy one day! :)
