We have a CDA653FS frost free fridge freezer in the kitchen area of the shop. It's about 5 years old and has worked flawlessly, until today..

It's not one of those that was on the recall list..

Anyway, checked all the connections etc, and all fine. Air distribution fan in the freezer running fine, and the compressor is also running, pretty much continuously at the moment. However, it's not getting cold, and the condenser on the back of it isn't getting remotely warm either. It IS however making a strange gurgling/bubbling sound, which is coming from the pipework. Does this indicate a low refrigerant level? It's not in a spot where it's likely to have had a knock to the condenser, and I can't see any obvious damage.

I don't mind getting it recharged if that's all it is, but worried it could be more, ie compressor, which although appears to be working fine, may have been "over run?" if that's the case, it's a skip job, which is hardly environmentally friendly..

Thoughts?

Mike
