Well the Christmas and New Year stuff is out of the way now and it’s only eight weeks until the car awkes from winter hibernation!
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

I used to have to wait until April to fire up the beasts, so I moved to a place where we rarely get snow and grit on the rods, and it f****ing snowed , and did it again, aargh! I feel your pain...
Sold the Z4 M Roadster and a 911 Carrera S now I have a 2021 Z4 3.0i

Unless looking at , talking about or simply owning is enough i really don't get the SORN thing when folks start wishing the weeks away
No Z4 is going to rust away with winter use .
Those who really want to keep a lid on miles or begrudge paying M tax when it might only move twice in a month I can possibly understand but otherwise I don't get the SORN thing tax it , drive it enjoy it especially the newer cars like E89s , you wouldn't sorn a 3 series or a 1 series
I did it once when i had 2 Z4s at the same time but otherwise , get some fuel in & get some enjoyment out of it

I havent driven mine much this winter, it is there and ready to go, but I work in the big smoke and as I have a family I only really drive it for pleasure, and when time allows. the car's nearly 10 years old and only has 28k on the clock.
thats an average of less than 3k miles a year, the previous owner obviously didnt love her, or she failed to give him a boner each time he got in it. lol
its only been on my driveway for 6 months.

Same here - I see no point in it either. I owned my Zed for a decade, took great care of it, but drove it as any daily car. Sold it and a very good price and moved on. I categorically know it would not have been worth a cent more if I'd garaged it all Winter or put 10k less miles on it.mr wilks wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2018 9:46 pmUnless looking at , talking about or simply owning is enough i really don't get the SORN thing when folks start wishing the weeks away

Same with the F Type that's worth a shed load more, but drive that every day at every opportunity, just avoiding the deepest snow, following grit lorries, etc.
Jaguar F-Type 3.0 Supercharged V6 S, Stratus Grey, LSD, Active Exhaust, CF wheels, Performance brakes, Sports seats and mods ongoing

I sorn mine as the 335 xd with winter rubber seems to be a much more suitable winter car. The z4 s I’ve had were bought for the purpose of summer sunshine top down motoring.
