Spent far to long today choosing what colour to refurbish my wheels, and the winner is shadow chrome
Went the whole gamit from bright orange (i know, i know, moment of madness lol) to black, to gunmetal, to fully polished, but I think shadow chrome is the winner as I keep going back to it over and over again.

Damn, just realised with nice shiny wheels I am going to have clean my car more than once a month. :/

Is there any point getting them refurbed. Sounds like it could very easily happen again

I was just wondering the same thing, Taz. After all the effort to get them refurb'd (at no small cost), you'd be more than a bit peeved to go straight in and kerb them again

Great choice, although if you kerb one alloy again, you'll need to get all 4 refurbished together to get a perfect match, as shadow chrome never comes out the same.markalp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2017 10:15 pm Spent far to long today choosing what colour to refurbish my wheels, and the winner is shadow chrome

I kerbed one of mine and opted to just get 2 wheels on one side refurbished. You can tell the slight difference if you place both sides next to eachother, but no one will ever see that except me, so it didn't really matter.

Im getting alloy gators fitted once refurbed, should keep them looking better longer.
Also i think i am going to sneak out one night and glue a plank up against the kerb as a protector when parking as I am lucky enough to have an allocated parking space in the road outside the house.
This images doesnt really show the kerb height, it is approx 1.5 coke cans in height and leans slightly forward from the bottom outwards. I walked along eight parked cars on my road and 7 had the same damage to their alloys.
I wonder how long the plank would stay in place if I used some Butyl Sealing Tape to fix it to the outside of the kerb :/

I'd pick a quiet Sunday and lift the kerbstones next to your space and relay them upside down so they slope backwards from the road - simples...

I'be got an industrial one of those with diamond cutting disks but, believe me, it's a lot less effort (and a lot less abrasive dust) to turn the kerbstones over...
