Please take care of yourself. I've lost family members to the Black Dog; it's devastating.
Hope to see you back soon

I don't know you, John, but I enjoy your posts and I'll be as sorry as everybody else to see you go. I remember your heart ablation rollercoaster and how you handled the setbacks with a lot of dignity.

Online forums can be a bit of a mixed bag for those with depressive tendencies, as I found out once myself. On that occasion I also decided to go "cold turkey" and, in hindsight, it was the right decision. So best of luck to you. :)

Your an extremely likable guy John with more positivity and spirit than most, although we have never met I always like to read your comments and join in with the threads you've been involved with.

As others have said Ive also had my highs and lows on here having had lots of breaks from the place. Its not the same as it used to be and unfortunately have learned that people do go out of their way to ruin your day, even people you thought you had decent rapport with. At the end of the day were all human and although just metal the cars are emotionally tying and its easy that people take things the wrong way or feel like giving people a good talking down. The keyboard is an easy method of communicating in ways most wouldn't do in person. Its easy to go away feeling whats the point, then a sense of perspective occurs and you realise your the better person and its not worth letting it get to you and ruining your day. Everyone has their bad days and admittedly ive taken it out on the forum as most of us have.

I have met some incredible people on here and have had some amazing times and continue to do so and without this place that wouldnt have happened or continue to. Been around Europe twice, amazing laughs and meets, so will always be thankful to the place for that and that is probably what brings me back.

When all said and done its the cars that bring us all together so better to focus on the positives they bring to your life and why we are drawn to and buy them in the first place.

Im sure you will be back better than ever.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas

John, i wish you the best, and i can actually understand your position for a number of reasons, firstly i work in the healthcare sector, secondly my partner suffers from depression and anxiety.... something that i see very regularly in my own home. I feel the post is brave and very honest, i think we are ALL going through some crazy stuff behind closed doors, not least myself, so take solace in that. I do however Wish you the very best for now and in the future, god bless, no doubt will see you when your feeling better.

I ALSO think that these times of being LOW in some ways are good for us, why????? well as humans we can no longer cope with things that aren't serving us at that given moment of rock bottom, whether it be toxic people, a horrible workplace , WHATEVER it is... You just instantly know, OK thats not working for me right now, at this time, you will find ALOT of things are no longer working for you and you will naturally distance yourself. This is healthy and this is good for you. Whatever makes you feel uplifted and keep it, do it more!!!

John, I’m so sorry to hear you are feeling this way. The black dog has invaded our home before and it is a truly awful disease. I hope you find your path through it, if you need a friendly face or a chat just pm me mate.

I know your post said you weren't really looking for replies, but a few days later I felt I can't help but send one.

I've never met you, but have always enjoyed reading your posts and adding to them from time to time!

If you feel being away from here will be helpful for you then that is fine, and I really hope it does help.

But if at some point you want to engage with the forum again I'll look forward to that.

All the best!
