It is, but you try telling a 70 year old with fused vertebrae in his neck and a pinched nerve in his back that he can either limbo to get an i8 and look sporty, or sit & swivel in comfort into a lumpy bumpy estate look like the old man he is :P

So is it actually a 15 year old Chinese car with a new power train? I thought it was being shown as a new car option? :tumbleweed:

Tbh, I pay very little attention to the majority of new cars these days and haven’t a clue about MG or what they are doing

I’m not trying to criticize or ridicule your dad, I’m just bemused that the MG management would have something like that on the market in 2021.

Been watching a few reviews lately and the ones that piqued my interest so far have been the Polestar 2, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6. All decent size but not too large, with good build quality, range etc. Feels like we’re finally heading towards some well thought out and practical alternatives to ICE motoring.

No, please, feel free to criticise/ridicule my dad...I do...when he spends 3 years deciding on a car, then goes and gets something different because he liked the colour of, but within a month realised he can't get comfortable in :headbang:

Delivery date end of April as per the order form. Would have liked to have sold the Jeep now as it has a silly value at the moment, but need something for the dog in the meantime. That is not going to be the M :D

Do these cars need servicing besides brake fluid?

Yes, because the warranty conditions will say so... the dealers don't want to lose their service department income stream do they...

In years to come the backstreet garages will have to drop the 'your anti-wobble compensator needed replacing so that's an extra £150' bullshit they give the mechanically-challenged punters (they'll probably tell them something like 'we had to drain all the electrons from the system and replace them with fresh ones so that's an extra £150' instead)

My local garage services my i3, that is they change the brake fluid every 2 years and run the diagnostic software. They give the brake pads and disks and the underside a quick once over and charge me £150 :-)

I think Tesla say you don't need to service their cars. Arnold Clark BMW tried to rip me off to service the i3 (no surprise there), but as soon as it was out of warranty I stopped going.

I would definitely put a vote forward for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 😃 I’ve had a look at them in the metal and they are beautifully made, and look the business. Practical enough boot too, the build quality is on par with my G31 daily, and at a sensible price point. It’s definitely on my list for the next daily 👍

Yes but which year?
I drove past my local VW dealership today. I thought they had gone out of business; there was a single Passat estate in the showroom and a (very small) smattering of used cars on the premises (I would say lot but I'm not American). It was actually quite depressing . :(
