I am looking at getting a new set of wheels, but I have a few questions...

How do 19s feel on the car? Any problems or disadvantages?

The size of the wheels are 19 x 8.5 front and 19 x 9.5 rear. Any issues with these sizes?

With fitting the larger wheels the car is going to look higher off the ground, so the plan is to get the Eibach Pro Kit springs with a 30mm front and 20mm rear drop. Is there any risk of scrubbing on the arches?

Mark I am running on the same size wheels lowered on eibachs without any issues. The important point is, what are the offsets of the wheels and what width tyres do you intend to run?
My offsets are 35 front and rear and the tyres are 225/35/19 fronts and 265/30/19 rears.
I'm not so sure the car will look any higher off the ground because the tyres have a lower profile than those on 18s.
Got any wheels in mind? As long as you fit non runflat tyres the ride quality is fine.

I fitted 19" CSL's on my 3.0SI coupe without problem,although like you say it needed lowering.

I thought the Eibach kit was 30mm on the rear though ?

Not sure the car will be noticeably higher off the ground ? The idea is when the wheel size goes up the tyre size goes down so keeping the overall rolling radius the same /
Pm Z4M-2006 , , ,he,s done the same as you plan on his last 3 Z,s with little or no issues

At the moment the wheels I am most interested in are CS (CSL Reps) Y Spoke alloys with the extra deep dish on the rear. Done to death yes but look very natural on the Z4. They have an offset of 19" x 8.5" et38 front and 19" x 9.5" et45 rear.

I don't really know much about offset etc but the CS alloys are listed on BM Autosport as Z4 E85/86 fitment.

The other wheels I like are the BBS CX-R, but they expensive before even fitting tyres.


Tyre sizes i have looked at are 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear. Not sure on which tyres yet, I'm going to give non-run flats a go I think.

I guess you have no rubbing because of the massive tire stretch. You've got pretty nice poke to them too. And you are even lower than my Coupe.

Im on H&R with M-Tech shocks.
I run 8.5x19" ET34 with 235/35 Michelin PSS. Before I got my adjustable camberplates it rubbed like hell. I have huge holes in the plastic covers in the wheelwells.
In the rear I run 10x19 ET41 w/265/30. No problems there.

I will go down to 18" next year just to get lighter wheels.
The first year I used 17" with 225/45 for track use. The car was sitting lower with those wheels than with the 19s.

How much did you lower by and did it effect the camber at all?

If I remember correctly it loweres 35mm f/r.

This is with my old 9x19 ET44 w/255/30 and the OEM M-Tech suspension.


Here its just lowered and no alignment done yet.
