Oh boy I'm in trouble now...... (new wheels content)

Post by M@r]{ » Sat Mar 10, 2012 11:26 pm

How am I going to keep this from the missus??!?!? :?

Just bought some OEM E46 M3 19" alloys, recently refurbed in Shadow Chrome 8) I would love some CSLs but I just know I wouldn't be happy unless they were genuine, and £1500+ on wheels and I won't have a missus!! I've always like the style of these and the fact they are not overdone on the Z4, in a paint rather than polish should mean they wear a bit better.

So, do you think the "it'll improve fuel economy" angle will work? :P Maybe she won't notice?

Yeah. Not 100% yet. In an ideal world I'd like to keep hold of them, put some winter tyres on and keep them...well for winter. Will have to see what happens with the problems with the 5 series and getting mine sorted - if they cost me a bomb I'll have no choice but to get rid.

IMO csl's look better on a coupe then the roadster... Yours are rarer and suit the roadster more.... However will be a pain to clean!

Hi

How about this? Tell her indoors u got some new Easy Clean "wheel trims" as seen on TV down the car boot sale for £20. Obviously this will allow her to spend less time cleaning the car on a sunday and more time cleaning the house.

:D

Buying them and then not telling her is probably not the way to find out - just in case she does notice!

OP, You'll be fine as long as you've saved up an equal amount of cash to spend on her...

My cover was blown when she checked the credit card bill and found I'd bought RS6 reps for the A6 Avant. She thanked me by running one into a kerb about a month later...
