So how come when you're looking at OEM CSL or M3 alloys you're looking at £1500 / £900 ?? Ok so they're an inch bigger but FFS.......

It's simple, they're not the best looking alloys on the go. Compared to the CSLs they're heavy too.

Yes, don't have the weights handy but just by lifting the 2 different wheels side by side you could feel a substantial difference.

I'd think you could get £600 every day of the week, if not as previous guys have said keep them to put on if/when you sell the car, you will always get good money back for the M3/CSL's

Re: How much would I be able to get for my Z4MC alloys?
Because all Z4Ms came with them and they don't look great on the Z. So they isn't as much interest, but CSLs are a magnesium alloy so they are lighter and they look better.

The magnesium part's a myth that's been perpetrated by the motoring press for years Tom.

Re: How much would I be able to get for my Z4MC alloys?
I'm just off the A1 between Stamford and Grantham? A friend with an M3 has said he'll sell me his wheels as he wants CSL style, so I might have a set soon. Then just need to work out if its worth selling these or keeping for winter wheels and to sell the car on?

Re: How much would I be able to get for my Z4MC alloys?
I weighed a spare set of CSLs I was selling to prove they were genuine to a buyer iirc they were abou 10kg at the front and 11.5 on the rear. The 18s are definitely heavier, could have been in my head but I was sure I could feel a difference. I bought back a set of the original wheels as spares/winters and are they were in very good condition paid about £350 with 2 good tyres.

Dont look good??? Tom come on! With a low profile tyre and spacers they look very nice. I think they suit the roadster more than the Coupe somehow though.
For me five spoke alloys always look good in most derivatives, twin five spokes are even better imo But as a general rule always an odd number of spokes.
Totally of topic but a bit to do with alloys - the alloys on the Mcclaren mp4 are VERY nice

Re: How much would I be able to get for my Z4MC alloys?
Well come on for an M car they are a very basic bland 5 spoke design. They dont really make the Z look particularly special or make it stand out and they are small too. With the OEM suspension they look tiny even with lowering springs... they look silly with the huge 40-45 profile tyres then you put lower profile tyres on them and they look even smaller! lol They do suit the roadster better but still dont like themDreamer wrote:Dont look good??? Personal preference of course! But not aesthetic enough for me.

Re: How much would I be able to get for my Z4MC alloys?
I don't think they are that bad. Lowered suspension, spacered out a bit.... Some benefits too, 18" tyre prices for one
