Opinion on CSL colour
Top left OEM, top right Hyper Graphite & bottom right Shadow Chrome.
Wheel Colour by tom_scott88, on Flickr
Hey guys finally getting round to putting my CSLs on, but before I put the tyres on I was thinking of having them refurbed. They are in perfect nick but I like the darker colour I currently have and want to continue the theme. But want a more gloss/chrome look, the pic makes my OEM alloys look much nicer than they are they are more like satin than a gloss or matt. They only look like this in direct light.

This is a more realistic photograph of how they look, before everyone says they prefer my OEM. I dont like the OEM style much prefer the CSLs so there going on regardless lol!

But still quite like the OEM CSL colour... now ive seen them on. So thought I would mock up a few. The shadow chrome should come out something more in-between the pics of Shadow Chrome and Hyper Graphite doesnt look perfect I know but nm. Thinking of getting the roof wrapped in carbon fibre 3M or having it resprayed in gloss black too, to complement the rest of the car.
Cheers in advance

Re: Opinion on CSL colour
The OEMs do look good on your car. You could try refurbing the OEMs again to get the color/glossy finish you're looking for, as in the parking garage photos. However, must admit the CSLs fill the arches better.
Also, like the idea of wrapping or respraying the roof on a silver or lighter color car like yours. Creates the illusion of a lower profile from the side and looks great from front and rear as well (e.g., dubseed).
Then all you need are aero skirts and you're good to go!

Re: Opinion on CSL colour
Cheers for the opinions. Like I said I have purchased the OEM CSLs so they are going on. I dont like the 5 spoke Z4M alloys, they dont do the car any justice IMHO although they do look better on mine in gunmetal.
The last image is a real image not a pseudo, I took with the CSLs to make sure there was no rubbing issues because the car has H&R springs. I do like the OEM colour but do fancy something darker just a shame the CSLs I bought only have front tyres on so I could see it in the flesh with all four. I dont really want to mess around having the tyres taken off etc for refurb when they are ready to go now. I do like the hyper graphite like Dubsesed car and the shadow chrome like sixspeeds car just think i need to see the finishes in the flesh as the camera is a liar 90% of the time.
I think lepsons have a alloy gallery with all the finishes they do, shame it like 250 miles from where I am.

Dubsesds car Hyper Graphite
The finishes are quite similar
Hope the owners don't mind me borrowing their pics

Re: Opinion on CSL colour
Graphite I think. Prefer the CSLs on the coupe but not on the roadster. OEMs look best on roadster IMO but like you I had mine darkened with flash chrome finish.

Re: Opinion on CSL colour
I like the graphite. I'm actually changing mine to a brushed aluminum finish this upcoming season. I found the graphite to be bright in the sun but a bit too dark for my liking in the shade or at night.

There is truth in that, however that then opens up the whole "I've got red wheels to be different!" scenario!sammyz wrote:Graphite I think. Prefer the CSLs on the coupe but not on the roadster. OEMs look best on roadster IMO but like you I had mine darkened with flash chrome finish.

CSL's, like Speedline Turini's on the Renaults are common...Why? Becuase they look the best!
Chances of us all being together at the same time is slim or infrequent so why not have a car that looks the best, instead of compromising for the sake of being different!?
