Cheers for the pics guys. I agree that the CSL does look bland compared to the gunmetal OEMs, but still looks better because I dont like the OEMs. But want to continue the theme because it does make the car look a lot meaner! That pic of your sixspeed looks awesome and the kind of effect im after. But it does depend in the light need to go look at some.

The OEM wheels really aren't special at all and don't do the car justice although I agree that they look the best they possibly could on Tom's car in that colour.

IMO the Z4MC just looks a little bit too pretty as it comes out of the box and needs the CSL's and aero sideskirts to make it more agressive in it's stance. Changing the CSL's to a darker colour just adds to that effect and I wouldn't change back to the original silver. When I initially got one set of wheels done in anthracite, I was alternating them with the silver wheels and found that I couldn't wait to get the darker set back on to the extent that I did the other set in anthracite too.

That said, the original silver finish of the CSL's is really nice and it is of course down to personal taste.

I think you're seeing a similar effect to that which you've mentioned in relation to your dark OEM alloys.... they look good in pics with great lighting, retouched etc but maybe not so much in the cold light of day?

I reckon black will only look good if they are very gloss. Another way of saying what Aliv6 said about the flat black is 'cheap'. Or 'tasteless'. But actually 'gash' does the job perfectly.

I guess I'm old school... In general, I don't like black wheels and have seen few examples that appeal to me, especially when on a zed. To me, they cheapen the overall appearance of the car. IMHO, black wheels are a passing fad that has just about run its course and will soon fall out of favor. Whether OEMs or CSLs, I think Hyper Graphite would look great on your car.

Careful with press photo's, they are very well shot!! great lighting and great pics. In reality they never look as good!

Stick to yuor guns above, either silver or the other one...

Have you seen a pic of a Silver M with Silver CSL's? My brother used to have one with that combo! Looks brilliant. Can post a pic if it's helpful!

I don't think I like that, doesn't work against the grey car.
