refurbish or replace?
Currently have 108's and they are starting to look a bit shabby.
Do I have them done, or just bite the bullet and replace with something else?

also a matter of personal preference if you like the 108's refurb them but if there is something else you prefer to have, then buy them but as Colin said, it all depends how much do you want to spend

Re: refurbish or replace?
There's a lot to consider.
A local outfit wants £125 each to do a refurb - Its supposed to be a good / proper job - but at that price it has to be!
I did consider buying some "ready done" then selling mine on - they are a long way off being a basket case so have to have some value.
Then to throw another spanner in the cogs, I have a bit of a soft spot for an E89 - Maybe even this year if my pension will stretch!

At £500 to refurb the wheels you might as well buy something else, that price sounds expensive to me but i've never had wheels refurbed so i'm no expert

As you say, for £500 you can indeed get something half decent1 a quick trawel around this forum confirms that!

Re: refurbish or replace?
I had some 108s refurbed at the wheel specialist in Newcastle. It was £500 a couple of years ago. I wasnt very happy about the price! But they did a first rate job. Finish and durability was top notch. They completely seperated the two components of the wheel to do a proper job. Then reassembled to the correct torque for all the little bolts.
I think that composite wheels like this are more expensive to refurb properly because of this

refurbish or replace?
I have same dilemma. After the roads have all the salt washed away I'm either refurbish the 108s or buying a different set of rims
Liking ///M rims but concerned about offset on the rears.
I may refurb the 108s. Can the rims be done in chrome to keep them looking 'as new' ?

Re: refurbish or replace?
My old E85 had whole set replaced by BMW under new car warranty. After less than a year, the corrosion started again.
Better get different types.

Re: refurbish or replace?
I would suggest getting a new style. I quite like the 108s but it seems to be a complete PITA keeping them in good condition.
