From RFT to Falkens any difference in tyre pressures?

Subject says it all really. Am changing from RFTs to Falken 452s on Friday. Am wondering if the tyre pressures listed on the door aperture are still good for the new tyres.

I have just fitted Falken HS-439 on 17" Wheels and running 2.5 Bar (36 Psi) front and standard 2.9 Bar (42 Psi) rears and that rides/turns in quite well

Some tyre shops have said that the ride changes considerably when going from run flats to normal tyres....not neccessarily always for the better, in that the ride gets very jumpy and fidgety....is there any truth to that.

Yes the ride will change but I've never heard the ride of normal tyres being called jumpy and fidgety compared to run flats - the opposite is the normal. The only negative of regular tyres that I've heard about can be a loss of immediacy in turn-in, but I can't say I noticed it greatly when I changed to Falkens.

This is all from an E85 point of view, but the majority of forum users use lower pressures in regulars compared to runflats. I can't speak for E89s but would imagine the principal is the same.

Tyres fitted and just been for a good hour run down my favourite road. First thing I noticed was improvement in road noise, definitely quieter.
As for any other changes they're subtle but noticeable, less crashy over poor roads and generally a bit smoother all round. Haven't noticed any loss of turn in feel but then I am a reasonably sedate driver. All in all quite pleased with the change although would like to experience what the Michelin RFTs are like.

Those pressures sound way too high. I'm not familiar with your car, wheel tyre combo, but I'd keep a close eye on wear as you could well be running on the centres of the tyres.

The chap at the garage looked the recommended tyre pressures up on his PC. He reckoned (for 18" wheels) they should be 2.6 bar front, 3.1 bar rear

Standard pressure for e89 with 17" alloys is 2.4 Bar front and 2.9 Bar rear, which may seems quite high, however I am just finishing a valve design where the maximum pressure is 430 Bar.......now that's high
