from 108's to Riva DTM's which tyres?

Post by C4Dman » Mon Aug 09, 2021 1:08 pm

The time has come to replace the 108's with runflats on our E86 (that need a refurb) with a set of 18" Riva DTM's in gloss black with some normal tyres, in readiness for our first car show (in a BMW) at simply BMW, Beaulieu. Looking at Black wheels as the car is titan silver with black leather, hoping for some contrast with the wheels against the silver body.

Our question is, which tyres and size?

Current Style 108 runs:
8x18” ET47 – front alloy
225/40/18 – front tyre
8 1/2x18” ET50 – rear alloy
255/35/18 – rear tyre

So assume as we are staying at 18" then the tyre size can also stay the same?

Thinking of going for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric as they seem popular here, thoughts?

Looking at sorting black wheel nuts ready for fitting. Don't suppose you can remember what you used?
I have been advised;
You need 12mm x 1.5 x 27/28mm tapered bolts.

Thanks for the kind offer, this upgrade is in readiness for simply BMW on 19th September, as the 108's are OK but letting the side down. :thumbsup:

Quick update as to what is happening;

1. Gloss black 18" Riva DTM's in transit, delivery expected tomorrow.

2. Got my local tyre supplier to order me up a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 assymetric 5's.

3. Black wheel bolts in transit.

4. BMW centre caps on order from ebay, slight chance but have good reviews.

5. Garage has quoted me for fitting, balancing and 4 wheel alignment.

So all looking good, just need a nice day soon to try out the Z4 and see if it gives back more than it was running on Potenza runflats :driving:

I’m sure you’ll see a massive improvement..I’m running an E89 with Zito 935 18” with Asymmetric 5s..great combo.. :thumbsup:

You may need to bed them in for about 200ish miles first to get the best out of them :driving:
