Wheel refurb

Post by lowrider » Mon May 17, 2021 4:51 pm

My z4 e85 is sterling silver and I am planning to have my 107 alloy wheels which have previously painted by Stevie Wonder refurbed but I can’t decide if to have a change of colour from the standard bright silver. Has any body got any suggestions i.e.
Gun metal grey?

This is for sale near me (at an optimistic price, I think) and has grey 107s.

Best set of wheels bar none for the E85 but resist the temptation to have any colour other than silver as it just detracts from seeing the wheel style.

The wheels in the top photo are 202's but hopefully you get the idea.

Yep, 107s are one of the nicest wheels for E85 IMO, but their close relation 202s don’t look right at all.

Got to agree with that. The grey and black just look a bit "DIY" and spoil the look. Some wheels take colour better than others IMO; but each to their own
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

I just had the wheels for my Z4 refurbed and being a Silver Grey car I was toying with something different.

But the grey/gunmetal options cost more because they have to apply 2 coats, and the bigger issue is that they can't guarantee to colour match if (or maybe when) you scuff one!

They had 4 silver choices so I went for Glitter Silver as it had the most sparkle and I'm very happy with them. :)

i think grey wheels on a grey car wouldn't look good. i like wheels to contrast the body colour - and 107s are such a pretty wheel, it would definitely be original silver for me. such a classic look.
