255/35/18 on a 10 inch wheel?

Post by inkey$ » Mon May 17, 2021 1:41 pm

Looking at wheel options and seen a set with 8.5 inch front and 10 inch rears - both with an offset of ET20

My MV2's are 225/40/18 (ET47) and 255/35/18 (ET50) - and I know via willitfit.com that they will poke out more than before, but what about the tyre? I have a virtually new set of Goodyear Eagle F1's on that I'd want to transfer, but don't want rubbing or overstretch.

255/35/18 on a 10 inch wheel?

my go to guide from the LVVTA says a 255/35/R18 will fit on a 10" rim:

can't comment on rubbing, though... nearly 50mm further out seems like a heck of a lot!

the 50mm poke does sound quite excessive, tyres will look just a little stretched but not too bad, id be thinking again though about wheels with better offset if it were me
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble :D

Thanks both. Yes, the offset of 20 was slightly worrying. Nothing below 35 seemed to be a general rule of thumb that I hard somewhere.
Appreciate the feedback.
