Just had my 108s refurbished after stripping them down. I now have the task of re-assembly. The question I have is should I use loctite on the threads or not? I can't help but think it is just a matter of time before they go again and given all the posts regarding seized and sheared bolts I have read, I fear that loctiting them is just asking for trouble should I ever need to strip them again. My preference would be not to, but I notice some others have said they did.
I would be interested in your thoughts.

I wouldn't & never have done , once you out them back together at what you think are tight leave alone 24hrs , then try them all again & i'd be amazed if you don't get a extra half turn on at least half .
I suppose you could glue them & the extra turn would "break" the bond ?

I'd follow this experience.mr wilks wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 9:09 pm I wouldn't & never have done , once you out them back together at what you think are tight leave alone 24hrs , then try them all again & i'd be amazed if you don't get a extra half turn on at least half .

If you get an extra movement on them once they've 'rested' then you will break the seal and it will have been a pointless exercise.
