Just some feedback on wheel/tyre set ups:
Had my e89 Z4 (2.5) for 5 months now, and was slightly disappointed by the crashy ride and understeery handling after coming from a 987 Boxster - however couple weeks ago swapped out the 18's with a mix of Nexen and Rotalla tyres for some 19's and a new set of Dunlop sport Maxx tyres in 235/35/19 fronts and 255/35/19 rears...
WOW! what a difference! - less road noise, grips like mad where before it was a bit scary in sport+ and the ride is lovely. Had an amazing drive out yesterday and fell in love with the beast

New tyre/Wheel feedback
Without wishing to be rude it would be highly surprising that such a swap should see a marked improvement...of course you changed the wheel size as well...would be interesting to see how you compared the Dunlop’s on 18 and 19..but that’s a bit esoteric...

New tyre/Wheel feedback
Hi,
Think part of the issue was the mixed budget brands, Rotalla rears with a lower profile than the Nexen fronts (standard 18" tyre fitments) - with this the back just seemed very crashy and loose. Following advice on here and upping the rear profile a touch seems to have smoothed it out a treat.
You're right in that some of it is no doubt psychological - new wheels and tyres and a summers days probably improved the experience
