Finally fitted my Style 32 Wheels!

Post by gregl342 » Sat Mar 30, 2019 1:51 pm

So I got hold of a set of 18" Style 32 Wheels back in November but hadn't got round to getting them swapped over on the car. Spent an hour or so this morning doing it and I'm very happy with the look :D

Before, MV2's:

I think the style 32 is the perfect OE wheel. Looks great without being over fussy, enough space between the spokes to easily clean, and above all light weight

Are the standard tyre sizes?

My thoughts on style 32s tend to waver between love ‘em, to thinking they look too dated for the Z4. Got to say though, I think your car looks great on them. Certainly got me looking at them again as a possible for my own Zed. In fact there’s a set for sale just an hour or so down the road!

I think you'll be challenging jamie_z4 and Mr Wilks for sets of alloy wheels owned soon!

If you fit E46 Style 32s, then they are the same size, offset and tyres as Z4 wheels.

Not sure I’m quite at that level of wheel obsession yet. One set on the car when I bought it (sold), one set bought, refurbished and kept, one set bought, used for a while, then sold on again. The trouble is I’m always looking at other sets and wondering if I’d prefer them to what I have. Lack of funds and lack of storage space probably means it’ll mostly remain as window shopping.

I really like them - and they are reportedly about the lightest OEM wheel for a Z4 if they are in the E46 sizes. Definitely easier to clean than MV2s as well!

I bought a set with winter tyres a couple of years ago, but then realised I don't use my Z4 in grotty weather so I sold them last year! They had been refurbed and finished in black - if they had been silver I'd probably have them on my Coupe now!
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

They look nice - are they the E36/46 or E39 fitment?

They're E46 fitment, same as the MV2s. And I've got 15/20mm spacers front/rear.

Cool, they are quite a nice fit! I'd be keen to see E39 fitment on a Z4. They have such a good amount of dish! Much harder to find though, and I imagine much more expensive as a result.

The dish on E39 wheels does look good. They have a very small off-set - meaning they stick out a lot! You also need spigot rings with E39 and some E39 wheels are metric (poor tyre choices). Im not sure if the E39 Style 32 is a metric though. When shopping for BMW wheels, I have always steered (no pun intended) clear of E39 wheels.
