Wheels on 2010 Z4 E89

Post by Tinker15 » Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:24 pm

According to the VIN the original wheels on my E89 were LA Wheel Vspoke 296. When I bought the car in October last year it was fitted with 18 inch CSL replicas as per the photo below. I can’t see any markings on the outside of the wheel to indicate who made them.

Both front and rear rims are fitted with 225/40-R18 Y P Zero Rosso tyres which have a good amount of life in them and will at the mileage I do will last a while yet. My question is is it normal for the rears to be 225 as it would appear a lot of E89s have wider rims at the rear and are fitted with 255/35-18 tyres?

Simple answer is no you shouldn't have 225-40 18 rears
Check rear rim width (I suspect 8j) & if keeping those wheels look to fit wider tyres like a 245 35

Thanks for your response. That’s what I feared. I may have to consider buying some wider wheels and tyres for the rear.

Your wheels look good. However, I would like to stick to the CSL style on 18inch. I have found these https://www.oponeo.co.uk/alloy-wheel-de ... 00#4598122 which look the same or similar to the ones I have on the car now. Not understanding these things will I need spacers for the new wheels?

Look on the Cmwheels website. You'll get a discount by quoting the forum. Usually about 10%ish
