Has anybody ever fitted 235's
I was wondering if anybody has ever fitted 235 tyres front and back or maybe front with 255's on the back?
I'm thinking 18" but as I have 18 & 16' it's a generic question really

i've gone for 245/35/18 and 255/35/18 on my track car no problems. 245 is the widest i could get away with on the standard 8" front.

I have 235/35/19 & 255/35/19 on my 35i. No problem at all, in fact the 235s are a better fit than the 225s on the front on my 296s. Cheaper too.

thank you gentlemen, you have echo'd my thoughts perfectly, the 225's look skinny on these alloys

I'm pretty sure a lot of folks have had rubbing issues with 235 on the front, I guess a lot depends on wheel offset and the suspension your running. 235s are a fair bit pricier than 225s too.road warrior wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 9:07 am I was wondering if anybody has ever fitted 235 tyres front and back or maybe front with 255's on the back?

A valid point, it's a thought for the summer anyway, I have feeling it came with sports suspension so I'm trying increase my sidewall for comfort.MACK wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 8:15 amI'm pretty sure a lot of folks have had rubbing issues with 235 on the front, I guess a lot depends on wheel offset and the suspension your running. 235s are a fair bit pricier than 225s too.road warrior wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 9:07 am I was wondering if anybody has ever fitted 235 tyres front and back or maybe front with 255's on the back?

If that's the aim you'd probably be better adopting the M tyre size of 225/45 on the front. I've done this and its a bit comfier and fills the arch up a bit more. Only draw back is they're a bit pricier than the 225/40 stuff. To be honest the biggest difference to comfort came from changing out the original shocks for B4sroad warrior wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 9:54 amA valid point, it's a thought for the summer anyway, I have feeling it came with sports suspension so I'm trying increase my sidewall for comfort.MACK wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 8:15 amI'm pretty sure a lot of folks have had rubbing issues with 235 on the front, I guess a lot depends on wheel offset and the suspension your running. 235s are a fair bit pricier than 225s too.road warrior wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 9:07 am I was wondering if anybody has ever fitted 235 tyres front and back or maybe front with 255's on the back?

Again I agree completely, there must be a scientific way of determining if rubbing will appear or is likely. I keep seeing people on here saying that they have rubbing.. I mean I know lowering is the source of all evil tyre wise, and tracking wise too, I just want to feel less bumps,

I put 235s on M 224 wheels on my M and they rubbed the front corner of the arch liner. Took them straight off again. I have no idea how you can tell if they will rub on your car or wheels though, sorry

Like I said before, 235/35/19 on 296s on my 35i are no problem at all and in that size, Uniroyal Rainsport 3s are cheaper than 225/35/19.

Very true, but I was only really replying to respond to the comment that 225s are cheaper than 235s
