Tyre talk / Uniroyal rainsport & winter rubber

Post by mr wilks » Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:00 pm

Lots of negative reports online Re wear rate on Rs3 so I thought I'd post up real world findings
Here is a pair of 225 40 18 rainsports removed this morning from my fwd workhorse Astravan after 16300 hard miles predominantly back roads / A roads + approx 6k 8k mway.
I'd have managed another 2k-3k if winter wasn't looming & can also report at no time have they deteriorated in their performance.
What's next?
I've had a pair of Michelin made "Riken" winters fitted which I intend running all year round so will update down the line how I get on with them.

Thanks, Mr. Wilks. I think this maybe the way I'm going with the Rs3s.

Mmm ... I have to say that the Pirelli P Zeros on my 35iS looked better than this after 22k miles.

I agree. Still expect less one-edge roll-off after 16k, asymmetrics or not.
