Wheel removal tools

Post by Ronnie_space » Sat Sep 15, 2018 4:52 pm

Hello -

I am looking to remove my wheels to fully wash, polish, wax etc. Can anyone advise/recommend required jack and torque wrench?

I have never taken one off this car myself!

One of these are very useful, both for taking wheel off & back on ALLOY WHEEL ALIGNMENT TOOL - BMW X3 E85 (2003-10) M14x1.5 REMOVAL NUT BOLT -1T3 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3409095707

Remember to always undo locking nut first, crack bolts before jacking, piece of wood to block Opp sides & look for a low lift jack (alloy ones from Costco are ok), as normal ones are too high

Thanks for the reply.

Interesting regarding alignment tool. Guess that acts as a third hand and makes it easier.

Noted on jack, found one here. https://www.costco.co.uk/Hardware-DIY-T ... 5/p/253398

When you say wood to block opp sides, presume that is if taking off both wheels from one side, so block two opp side.

Can you get both wheels off one side from a single jack point?

Just to add that these pins are really handy but the one linked is the wrong size for the Z4
