8x18 square set-up on E85 - would you?

Post by ErrErrminator » Thu Sep 13, 2018 7:23 pm

As per the title, I’ve seen some 18” wheels I like the look of, but they all 8J with ET40. Anyone have this set-up, or similar?

Would you opt for 225/40 all round for this set-up, or push the rear tyres slightly wider?

Believe these E89’s I used to run as winters were 8J ET40 offsets - were flush with arches

I dithered and missed them. Thinking about though I’d prefer a staggered set-up and no less than the offsets I currently.

OP, the OEM offsets on staggered 18s are ET47 on the front and ET50 on the rear - I'm pretty sure ET40 would sit a bit further out than those, nut of course you'd lose a bit at the back with them being 8J rims.

Good luck finding a set you like.

I've got 17" 8J square and not missing the staggered set up at all, bmw over rubbers their rear end imo
225 all around is fine, just doesn't look as mean as a fat amount of rubber at the back
