With conventional powder coated wheel refurbishment , i understand wheels are shot blasted then any kerb damage is filled prior to powder coating.
I would like to retain the diamond cut finish of my 108s but they have kerb damage. is this possible? I am assuming filling won't work because the filler would stand out when laquered, but if they cut away the kerb damage they will be removing material from the rim which may affect its strength.
Does anyone know how wheel refurbishers restore the diamond cut look if the wheels have kerb damage?

They fill the scratches etc with metal filler and then file down to shape
Not your normal bodywork filler
Id go powder coated also, diamond cut really isn't a very durable finish

Totally agree... here’s a few pics of my 108’s after at least two years from having the diamond cut rim powder coated...

Wow! 2 years and they still look like new. Where did you have them done?

Lepsons in Chatham... not cheap, but I also ran ‘winters’ because it’s the road salt that’s the killer!
