108 repair without splitting.

Post by SeanConnor » Mon May 28, 2018 11:46 am

About two years ago I had my 108s split and re-furbed by First Aid Wheels. Two of them have already had chunks of finish fall out which is reall pi@@ing me off. Is it possible to do a smart repair on these without splitting them ? So far I have had sharp intakes of breath fro two companies .... ahhh split rims sir $$$$$$ .
The damaged areas are both well away from the spider tips.

My thoughts are you are wasting your time and money if you don't split them. Whereas a smart repair may address the immediate issues, what happens next time a chunk falls off, and it will?

They will be going back to stock colour in Sept, so a full refurb then. I just don't want to drive through the summer (two car shows inc) with two wheels looking like Fred Flintstone has fettled them.
