Wheel advice: CSL reps
Hi all (and in particular Mr Wilks),
I’m after some advice. I’m bored of my MV2 alloys and think the coupe looks great on 19” CSL style wheels. A bit boring but tried and tested, and it's rare that I see another zed, let alone a coupe on csl wheels.
I’m near BMAutosport and like the look of either Atomic CSLs or Riva DTMs. Any potential issues with rubbing on standard suspension? Are these offsets fine on the z4?
Atomic CSL
http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/p ... ear-p-3613
Fronts: 8.5” et 38
Rears: 9.5" et 27
Riva DTM
http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/p ... rear-p-422
Fronts: 8” et 34
Rears: 9” et 37
For the Riva DTMs I was recommended the following tyre sizes: 225/35/19 on the fronts and 255/35/19 on the rears. Are they the best sizes or should I go for 235 fronts and 265 rears? It will be Michelin ps4 tyres that go on.
Thanks, and sorry for the basic questions. Will put photos up once on the car

I would choose the Riva but don't fit 235 35 tyres to the front , go 225 & if lowered & you do get a slight rub ( which you most likely won't ) then 215 35 will cure it , rear 255 35 19 is the tyre size i would go for , its a 9j width so no wider needed
Idej jedi & many others run the same sets with those offsets

I think both are perfectly fine from a quality perspective , though the rear 9.5j et 27 offset on the atomics is on the max from a offset / width point on non ///Ms (imagine your rear Mv2 with a 32mm spacer behind )
So that would prompt a 30 profile tyre as its quite aggressive on non ///Ms & i would always want a 35 profile plus i prefer the 8j 9j set up on E85 E86 which is not always possible with aftermarket wheels

How are you finding the ride moving from the 18” mv2 to these 19s ?

Surprised to say the ride is no harsher on the 19s.earthdweller wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 8:35 pm How are you finding the ride moving from the 18” mv2 to these 19s ?
Not sure if moving to Michelin ps4 tyres helped me there, but I'm very pleased with the tyres. They've given me a lot more confidence in the handling.
I've certainly got no regrets, the wheels fill the arch nicely with no rubbing/crashing/ride issues.

Hoping to get a set of 19 Riva DTM on my E86 in the Spring. Are those Hyper Silver? Still loving the ride...any issues?

@Thierry
Amazing and classical look. Fresh even today. I am ordering the same set of RIVA DTMs, but with 235/35 and 265/30 as I got the impression of 255/35 18" on my previous 224s were a bit stretched.

Tyre sizes for the Z4M style 224 wheels are 225 or 235/45/18 on 8 inch front rim, and 255/40 18 on 9 inch rear. Perfect fitment and no stretch. We are running 255/35 on 9.5 inch rims, no stretch at all, and 255/40 on a set of 10 rims, no stretch.Panta Rhei wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 3:16 pm @Thierry
