Any Photoshop experts able to help (wheel choice)?

Post by ErrErrminator » Thu May 03, 2018 8:29 pm

Could anyone help me visualise some alloy options please? I would like to see 18” style 189s on a Stirling grey E85 roadster, in both silver and something darker like gunmetal. I don’t have a decent side on photo of my car, so any web shot of a similar one will do.

A cheeky request maybe. Just wondered. I wish I had the skills to do it. Will see if I can locate a suitable side on car shot and of the wheels in question.

Yes, thank you. That one did turn up in a Google search I did. The 203s are very similar to the 189, so that certainly helps with how they’ll look.

The 203s are original 47/50 offsets, whereas the 189s are E90 fitment at 34/37, so will sit 13mm further out front and rear.

I do wonder how they might look in gunmetal, or similar, or whether the style is better suited to original silver. Might have a stab at doing something with PS later, although it’s bound to turn out shockingly bad!

I love a little PS, and if I'm honest I gave it a go putting 189s on a Stirling Z. Let's just say Pixar won't be offering me a job any time soon!

Am I brave enough? Absolutely, I have no shame!.

Am I able to? No, I never saved it!

Don't worry, I'm sure I can knock up something similarly awful and post it

I'm liking the darker wheels. What colour are they? Gunmetal?

Nice one Jamie. Better than I could do!

Hmm, I like the darker ones too. Not sure of the colour, as this was just an image I found online. The silver ones there look almost white.

Yes, I couldn't use the program I usually do, so no adjustment to light and so on. It was a very basic 2 minute MS Paint copy and paste job!

Those dark ones do look nice. Aren't your grills black? Would carry on the theme nicely if so

Yes, black grills on my car. I currently have satin black 19" wheels, but want to come down to 18s and a different style. I don't want black again, but a darker metallic grey finish is certainly looking likely.

While I wouldn't normally go same colour car and wheels, I really like shadow chrome wheels on a Stirling Z.

See the first few pics on this page for what I mean... viewtopic.php?t=7308&start=15
