Nexen N-Fera reviews?

Post by adam04 » Thu Apr 19, 2018 6:41 pm

Anyone any experience of the above tyre?

Im looking at ditching the runflats and changing all 4 in the near future. Spoke to my local garage today to get a price for PS4's and he recommended the above tyre, he said its A-rated and he uses them on his Z3.

They are about 25% cheaper than the PS4, so a fair saving on all 4 however, Im not sure how they will perform. So any reviews?

Go with what you know i would say, Nexen are an OK brand but they ant a premium brand currently.

PS4 tyres top out most of the tests and Michelin know there stuff, i wouldn't risk it personally.

I can’t see much to recommend them other than the price, but that might be negated by the higher wear rate reported.

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/20 ... e-Test.htm

Even the touring Michelin Primacy scored higher, never mind the sportier PS4. As did the Pirelli cinturato P7, the Conti SportContact 5, the Fulda SportControl and the Goodyear EfficientGrip. Even the Sava Intensa UHP performed better.

Also remember that these comparisons are from 2014 on a BMW 320.

BTW, I don’t think I’ve ever had a tyre fitter recommend anything other than the tyre they make the most margin on :P

I know quite few customers that have fitted the 1's and I have fitted the 4's on my C63..

I just wanted something that had decent wear rate after ripping through a set of,PS4's then conti 5's and conti 6's at just over £340a pair it was getting silly...Lasting around 3000 miles on the rear..

So I tried the Nexen as a cheap alternative and have to say I have been pleased, ultimately not as grippy as the Conti's but only under extreme circumstances,so never really rears its head on the road.

Wear seems fine at the moment after 2k miles.. Quieter than the Conti's too..

Stop driving like a loon then :poke: :P

My PSS lasted 20,000 miles on the rear (double that on the front) - including a couple of 'Ring trips - although 95% of my driving is cruising on the motorway.

Good decision you won’t regret that.

You’ll get more like 15-30k out of a set I would say depending on axel etc

Yea

PS4 wear well...

I dare say you will get good service out of them, there is no better tyre.

Unfortunately in my application they only seem to last as long as cheaper tyres.... Thats what 525bhp and 560 Nm of torque will do for you though.. :D
