Tyre Polish which is best?

Post by jock156 » Fri Apr 06, 2018 9:57 am

Ok so my Harly wax turned up this morning including micro fibre cloths, wheels are booked in next Wednesday for a refurb so what is the best product out there to give the tyre wall that fresh black gloss look - other than fresh black gloss LOL.

Any suggestions please?

For glossy I use Meguiares endurance and for a satin look I use Swissvax Pneu. Both very good and last well.

+1 for Meguiars - I am impressed with how long it stays shiny. That may be why they call it endurance?.

Carpro pearl is a great product undiluted for tyres leaves a great finish without the dreaded sling, you can also dilute and use as a back to black product for interior and exterior trim I can't recommend it enough

Some time ago on detailing world forum, this came out as being quite popular:

I bought some a couple of years ago and have found it to be all the others praised it for. Not too shiny, low-to-no sling, great coverage and long lasting.
Quite cheap as well!

Live and learn. I had no idea people painted their tyres, other than when selling. :o

This is what I use, on PerryGunn’s recommendation. You don’t need much on a small sponge - a 5l tin should last the rest of your life

I have tried lots over the years but discovered this 2 years ago. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-an ... _1541.html. This is the kit, but you can buy individual items. For my daily driver this lasts 3 months, yes 3 months. Prepare properly and it is by far the best out there.

I use Meguiars endurance tyre gel, mainly because you can buy it from Halfords, but also because it lasts a long while.

You do have to be careful not to apply too much. Alternatively, just wipe the tyres after a few minutes with a cloth, or you will end up with loads of black dots down the sides of the car (if you drive it soon after).

It leaves a really nice finish thats easily lasts a month or so, depending on weather and the state of the roads (mud etc).
