I've used the site below to report pot holes on a number of occasions (I know it's not a lot of help if you've already hit the thing)
They've usually been repaired within 2-3 days

Honda CB500F.
Gone but not forgotten E85 2.0 MSport

Sounds like you are talking from experience.

No, but I did look into deducting for bad services received and when you look at their council tax bills it states that you can’t deduct anything from that for services not rendered by the council and if you did not pay in full you would be prosecuted or words to that effect. Typical council speak.

The road infrastructure in the UK at the moment is so bad that the government just cannot afford to correct the problem. I recently hit a pothole here in Blackpool which resulted in a slight scrape on my front nearside alloy so I contacted Blackpool Council. I sent photographs of the offending pothole along with a photograph of my damaged wheel.

Reply........ " We have inspected the reported pothole and found that unfortunately it does not fall within our set parameters of being a problem".

I don't know and don't particularly care what "THEIR" parameters are, I just know that i hit it and damaged my wheel? Its just totally pointless.

As above ^^^
The roads in Preston city centre are appalling.
I have a short commute but there is no route that doesn't take me over sections of road that are literally crumbing to bits. I feel like I'm driving over one of those suspension test roads. And these aren't quiet back streets they are main junctions and busy roads.
I noticed several worn sections of motorway too on the M65 both East and West - literally holes in the surface that make you want to swerve to avoid. I know where they are now so can avoid the loud thud as you bounce over them!
I seem to give as much attention to the road surface now as I do to my speed and other road users :headbang:

I lay Lincoln odds that there aren’t any potholes in and around Downing St and on the PMs route to work!

It was suggested somewhere that every pothole you find, should be ringed with that yellow marker spray!

Personally i blame the cheap car tax (VED) for 'less polluting' vehicles so many people have switched to these cheap £20/£30 a year cars that the government is losing money, hence the changes in 2017.
The DVLA figures show that for 2016-2017 year compared to 2015-2016 there was a £54million drop in revenue, with a £93million drop the year before.

I know people who regualrly compalin that the roads are not maintained and yet they pay £60 VED and run two cars.

At least Zed drivers pay their way! :driving:

If you got pushed 'off' the road, the state of the roads isn't the issue (you weren't on the road).
You should be putting in a claim against the Kia driver.

I managed to claim for a tyre once from my local council and they asked me would I like to put the value towards paying my council tax. Lovely arrangement. :!: sometimes you can never win.

Many roads like that around our way as well. The A6097 is a absolute disgrace. And yet the £80 fill up I just paid for £70 goes to the government!!!!
Lack of routine maintenance and re-surfacing has now led to a situation where the repair bill is going to become tens of billions unless they make a start right now.
Stop giving dosh to foreign dictators and their space programs and build better roads for us to go to work and pay our taxes!!!!
