E90 Space saver

Post by StuCracker » Mon Feb 19, 2018 5:32 pm

I'm aware that an e46 17" space saver will fit on an e86 but what about a 17" from an e90?
I'm struggling to find the spec for both e46 and e90, so that I can compare them.
Can anyone confirm I can use the one from an e90? :driving:

I bought a 17" E46 space-saver from someone on here last year ready for going onto non-RFTs.

But I don't think you'll find an E9* with a space-saver - I put a deposit on an 06 plate E91 last week and it has the dreaded RFTs. And the space under the boot floor will never accommodate a space-saver (whereas my nephew's E46 Touring has a big enough space to hold the full-size wheel you took off). :)

Actually, that may be why you can't find an E9* spec.
Coupes because stunning!

You can fit any Bmw 17inch space saver to your E86 with no issue .
E90 E60 or E46 it doesn't matter .
The non M E85 E86 have such high Et numbers virtually all other models being lower means they will sit further out as opposed to further in

Thanks gents, the one I'm looking at has been advertised as for an e90 but I've just got the part number and it's from an e46, so all is well.
Thanks again

So just to confirm a 16" or 17" spare from an E46 will fit my 2003 E85?

Yes - maybe?! A 16" will fit any Z4 up to a 2.5i or 2.5Si - but if you have a 3.0i or 3.0Si I think you may need a 17" to clear the front brakes.

Mines a 2.5 so perhaps I’ll try and get a 17 to be sure.

The larger front brakes only concern the Si models so not a worry for Zs pre 2006 whether 2.5 or 3.0 .
16inch or 17inch spacesaver will work just as those Oe "bottletop " alloys do
