New wheels TPMS?

Post by patrickbateman » Thu Feb 15, 2018 1:18 am

When I fit my new wheels and NON run flat tyres will I have an issue with the TPMS please?

Car is a 2007 E86 Z4C 3.0si currently with 18" MV2 wheels and run flat tyres,

Is the TPMS system ABS based or will I need a set of new valves/sensors?

Thanks for any help offered,

UK and Euro spec E85/86 models were ABS based measuring differences in tyre rotation to detect a flat, US supplied models after 2007 had 'proper' pressure monitoring TPMS. Changing wheels and tyres set off my ABS tyre monitoring warning light but a simple re-set sorted it.

To reset: Start the engine then push the reset button until the orange light appears in the dash, then drive straight for a short distance on a flat stretch of road.
