Thanks - do most BMW dealers have 4 wheel alignment systems and is the Zed fully adjustable?

I haven't had mine done ( ) but everyone seems to rate a Hunter alignment - although the results seem to depend on the skill of the person doing it.

It might help to say whereabouts you are!

Thanks - I have heard about the Hunter Alignment and I agree with your comments. I'm in North West London, although willing to travel for the right place.......

Surely, everyone must have considered fine-tuning their set-up? :driving:

If you are local enough, Wheels In Motion in Chesham are brilliant. I always used them for my MX5s.

Not wanting to shot down in flames but Kwik Fit use Hunter alignment equipment and you can have the car adjusted 8 times over 2 years for a fixed price. My local were very knowledgeable and enjoyed working on a car with a proper adjustable setup.

Do you take your other cars to them or do you have another garage you use?

Hi,

Thanks for this suggestion, is it available at all Kwik Fits and roughly how much is the cost? I suppose if you have a car with a sensitive set-up, this would be ideal.

Thanks

Don't do it they are clueless, had to get mine redone at BMW after going there!
Set computer as E89 when mine is E85 then argued I didn't know what model car I had and still made an arse of it!
Don't risk it BMW should be around £130, a bit more expensive but done right and no hassle!

I'm sure I won't be going to Kwik Fit, although i'm intrigued about this offer as I know some people like using them - so I can pass on the comments

Do BMW know what they are doing? Is the Zed fully adjustable or does it require aftermarket adjuster bolts/ bought from the BMW part counter?

I think it was about £120 for the 2 year deal, its about £35 per adjustment so worked out more cost effective, mine knew the car and set up and was keen to try the M setup on mine, it depends where you go to who will do the job and how knowledgeable they will be.

Thanks! I'm intrigued to see what my local Kwik Fit say....I agree a lot of it comes down to the operator. Although, I am surprised there isn't a place recommended by all members, like a specialist finder :headbang:

Thanks for your comments, though

I've only had MX5s done with them but I haven't had another adjustable car that would benefit from expert adjustment until now. I will be taking my Z4 to them in the summer.
As well as my MX5 they also did a Mk1 MX5 track car I was a part-owner of. They do all sorts there including a lot of track cars so they really do know their stuff.
