How can it be a replacement if they don't make it in 18!?

The Michelin website also recommends the ps4 over the ss. :poke:
They are going to make the 4s in 18 apparently, just not yet... The PS4 is not a replacement for the SS tyre the PS4S is as steve says.

Interesting. The reason I said that was because it's what I was told by a Michelin rep at autosport last year.

I'll be back in a few weeks to bring it back up.

They also said ps4s wouldn't be made in 18" as there wasn't enough demand.

They said the same about MPSS when they launched that in 2010, 2 years later they released them in 18".
It wouldn't surprise me that they will follow the same path this time around, though that said there are indeed less performance cars these days running 18". I guess we'll find out soon enough.

What I've read seems to suggest March/April this year for the bulk of 18" releases in the PS4S, and supposedly 20 different sizes. How accurate this turns out to be, well I couldn't say. I need some new rears myself in the upcoming months though so will wait and see.

Sorry PS4s I meant above. Hopefully the link will work, if not just search them on Blackcircles although only 19" PS4S.

I tried to order some super sports yesterday - they are on 2 month backorder so called Michelin who confirmed they are discontinued. The super sports are replaced by the pilot sport 4 S which they don't do in 18".

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres it will be then!

Interesting thread, this snippet from Oponeo link may prove useful to others...

It is a good idea to buy reinforced tyres if:

You have a vehicle with a powerful engine: XL tyres will then provide greater stability on corners and a better reaction to both acceleration and braking at high speed.
