Windows and Roof Drop

Post by Tabz123 » Thu Jul 13, 2017 9:21 pm

Hi All

In my E89 Z4 I recently noticed that when I drop the roof whilst outside using the key, the roof drops, boot closes but windows no longer rise up. Not the end of the world but for guessing something has reset.

Any idea of a quick fix ?

Thanks

Tabz

Mine does exactly the same. Are they supposed to come back up when using key fob to lower roof?

Mines the same, think it's supposed to be like that when using the key to lower the roof.

Mine always put the roof in the boot then put all the windows up ( all 4). It was a sure sign of knowing the boot had closed and I was ready to go. Now Si have to watch the boot seal close, check the green light on the open roof button goes off then put all 4 windows up. Bit of a pain.

Windows and Roof Drop

I'm positive the windows are meant to stay down when you drop the roof using the key. I think it's even in the manual.

When you drop the roof using the button in the centre console whilst in the car it will put the windows back up when it's done.

If your car ever raised the windows after dropping the roof via the key fob then that was non standard behaviour that someone had coded. If your car has recently been serviced then I guess it could have lost this custom setting?
