I have just lost my temper trying to fit the LUX H8 LED's for my E89 35is....

The old H8's swivel and pop out without much effort, however the new LUX H8's won't! I've aligned them up correctly with the groves but cannot turn them to click into place. I've used as much force as I can, taken skin off the end of my fingers and they're no numb and the LED's still aren't in!!

Anyone else had this problem? Any tips or tricks?

I will try again in the morning when hopefully I have feeling back in my fingers / thumbs.

Appreciate any help you can offer!!

Raesy :x

The only advice I can offer is look at the one you've taken out an one of the new ones a just check the notches or locating lugs are in the same place on both

Yep, definitely in the right place and sitting snug, just can't get it to turn all the way to clicking I place

Can you refit the originals, just to check that it's not your technique? If the originals click back in, it must be something different with the new bulbs....

Originals fit fine no problem! I've even lubed up the rubber and surround to try and make it easier but the new ones won't go in, no matter how much effort I put into turning them. Any advice? They clearly don't fit properly!!

I had exactly the same problem, in the end I got a length on 1" x 1" timber and used it to apply pressure behind the bulb at the same time as twisting the bulb, I also put a bit of Vaseline on the rubber O ring.

That's a good idea, it's difficult to push hard in and turn. The lights needs some kind of leverage or a tool to help you turn them.

Anyone else had the same problem and have any tips? I'm really getting frustrated by this. Something so simple shouldn't be so difficult. £200 lights and I can't get them in....

Done at last!! Took brute force, vaseline and an adjustable spanner which just about fitted... What a difference they make though, worth the expense. Will upload a picture later if I can figure out how to.

Only just discovered this post.

I did the same. Pictures in this link. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=73059&start=15

Fitting the bulbs was a bit of a pain and did require patience, plus a few swear words.

mine went in without any issue, every e89 with the old yellow lights should get the upgrade, it's essential :)
