Z4 m sport 2006 reg clutch
Just want to ask, looking at buying the above reg car but is the clutch really hard to use or is this a warning sign not to buy the car? Thanks

Re: Z4 m sport 2006 reg clutch
I've taken a test drive on an ///M and the clutch is only slightly heavier than my 3.0si and I wouldn't be too concerned about this aspect in terms of driver enjoyment. First and second gear on all Zeds seem to be a bit obstructive until the gearbox oil is warmed through and even then they can differ in feel. I'd be looking for the feel of the clutch - it usually should let you know if there is life left or problems ahead. If you have any doubts then try others - there are an increasing number coming up for sale and prices seem to be flattening and even dropping for average mileage examples.Albaylis wrote:Just want to ask, looking at buying the above reg car but is the clutch really hard to use or is this a warning sign not to buy the car? Be interesting to see what others think (lots of ///M owners on the forum )

How do you mean hard to use? Heavy, slipping or really high biting point?

There's no such thing at a 2006 M Sport, that's what they call the later non-M cars with 'sport' trim.
Do you mean a Z4M Roadster or Coupe?
If so you may be referring to the clutch delay valve which can cause a bit of a kangarooing affect if you're not used to the car.
Good luck with the purchase.
