That’s correct, also the LEDs have a slightly thicker set of spigots which means at least for me that they would not rotate to the same lock position as the oem bulbs...skinned my knuckles for what it’s worth...
Nice effect when finished though..

The angel eye lights on the e89 are not even..the inners if I recall are much brighter but that’s due to the light channel diffuser piece of plastic that Bmw uses not the bulbs themselves...the post LCI do have brighter lights not sure why....Mine is pre LCI but with the leds has a nice white light without being too harsh..ihadablackdog wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 2:32 pm Are the actual lights any different on the pre/post lci?
If the oem is now white, do they light both rings evenly and can those bulbs be used? Realoem shows two different types of bulb?
How did you get on with these bulbs? I have removed the led ones I fitted. The outer ring being dimmer was too much of an annoyance so thinking of trying these.Nick9one1 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2018 11:36 am I wish I'd seen this thread earlier!
I've tried a few bulbs in my E89 with limited success.
first I tried some 80W LED's from ebay - only the inner ring lit.
So I then moved onto a 55w HID kit. - works but bulbs are too long.
So yesterday I ordered some of the new OSRAM COOL BLUE BOOST H9's
They promise to be 5000k so should match the HID's quite well. Reviews look good. They aren't road legal, but then neither are any of the LED's.
(road legal halogens need to be 4200 Kelvin or less, and 55w or less)
