Head liner removal

Post by bimmeup » Wed Jan 22, 2014 2:20 am

Hi U.K folks.
Need some help from you guys.
I got some dents on the roof of my brand new(relatively-6month) z4 e89 (yes that hurt .. a lot, left some dents on my heart too :( ). During the ice storm last christmas in Toronto.
Need to remove headliner to push the dents out.
Found some drawings on http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/show ... ct=3484199
but it doesn't show pool proof step by step guide.

My questions are.

!. Is there any other thingy that holding the liner like screws other than clips?
2. Can i just pull it out or does it require some trick like pushing or pulling in certain direction(sliding)?

Any suggestion or info is much appreciated before I break anything.
Also any diagram or drawing if available? Since I am kinda challenged following instructions.

Thank you.

Ah I just found
"Roof Liner Front/Rear - Removal and Reinstallation" by Z4_Gaz.
Thanks a lot Z4_Gaz. Silly me I should've looked harder. :D
So It seems that I need special tools?
And just pull it straight down?
