Drilling for a wind deflector

Post by Crandog » Fri Dec 11, 2020 8:00 pm

All,
Has anyone adapted their existing roll bar covers to accommodate the brackets for a wind deflector. I’m thinking about making a template for where the holes need to be and then making a generous hole to give myself some room for error when I’m lining up the screw holes in the inner housing exposed when you take the silver plastic panel off.
Any help tips and tricks videos photos - most welcome.

I measured mine for selling my wind deflector incase anyone wanted to fit drilling their existing hoops.

Hopefully these will help

When you open the hoops up you will be able to see where the holes should go. I just did as you said, drilled a hole slightly larger than the screw hole but not bigger than the width of the brackets.

How far from the centre of the bottom hole to the bottom of the cover?

This is the other side, they look a couple of mil out but these are factory ones, not ones I drilled myself. The tape looks flatter on this one and in line with the hole.

If not follow Silverstar’s suggestion and take them off and drill from the inside?
