Well, It's not a recommendation for real life issues by the following reasons:
  • He obviously knew the issue before he started to record this video. Then everything sounds easy going. Never found this clear situation in the field.
  • To shorten the wires directly on the CTM is only an option, if you perfectly know how this roof works in every detail. Who does this on the first issue with his roof?
  • The kind of his repair attempt is absolutely not a recommendation! Never ever put a thicker wire into the roof mechanism. You have to switch over to more flexible wires instead.
  • Last point for today: my experience is, that if one single wire can be identified as broken, all 4+2 wires on both sides are in the same bad condition and will break the other day.

But, this video is very funny.
Oh well.

The more we know about these roofs and how to fix the better.
His fault finding would be applicable to any of the switches.
The only thing we might lack is a means to override the boot lock out.

The only thing that would concern me about that break as to how clean it looked. It takes some to continuously bend a wire before it breaks.
I hope they didn't employ the same manufacturer as the boot draw down wiring fault. Probably did.

I always save these videos using 4k video downloader.
